During the early Sui Dynasty, a murder case in a remote border town brought together Feng Xiao, the Second Master of the Xie Jian Bureau, and Cui Buqu, the Chief Envoy of the Zuo Yue Bureau. Each pursuing their own reasons, the two faced a test of intelligence and bravery. Typically effective in his work, Feng Xiao encountered an unexpected challenge in a weak and ill Taoist priest.
