An imperial order forces scholar Song Liqing into marriage with Crown Prince Jun Qiyu. On their wedding night, Jun Qiyu rejects Song Liqing and spends the night with someone else. Despite the humiliation, Song Liqing remains loyal to their previous relationship. Jun Qiyu's mistreatment escalates, culminating in a violent act that leaves Song Liqing physically and emotionally shattered.
