Rei Shinokita, a serious blonde girl with a tomboyish demeanor, and Junko Yajima, a tall, attractive brunette with an impulsive personality, travel from school to school as they fight criminals and save the day. Their adventures parody two comedic characters from Japanese literature known for traveling and causing comedic chaos. Rei often rescues young women and becomes the focus of their affection, while Junko rescues boys and similarly becomes the object of their interest. Each story arc typically includes yakuza involvement, action scenes, and a predictable romantic dynamic where a girl falls for Rei and a boy for Junko. The series was first published in Bonita from 1982 to 1991 and later in Mystery Bonita from 2003 to 2006. Volumes 1 through 22 were released by Akita Shoten between 1983 and 1991, with volumes 23 to 29 published from 2004 to 2006.
