Carla is a witch with limited magical and professional abilities. She operates an apothecary that has been struggling since her master's death and runs a divorce service on the side, though her clients often end up reconciling. When the queen sends a knight named Thane to deliver a message, Carla finds herself in a tense situation. Thane openly dislikes witches, and Carla shares no affection for knights, resulting in constant conflict between them. Despite their animosity, there may be more to their initial impressions than meets the eye.
