Yomei Hantoshi no Kimi ni Boku ga Dekiru Koto

Tomoaki has abandoned his aspirations of becoming an illustrator and is going through school without much excitement, until Nanami arrives as a new student. Nanami admires Tomoaki’s grandfather, a well-known picture book illustrator, and dreams of writing her own. She discovers that Tomoaki once illustrated picture books and asks him to collaborate on one. Initially, he declines, but Nanami’s genuine enthusiasm persuades him. Upon learning that Nanami has six months left to live, Tomoaki commits to helping her fulfill her dream. He has given up on his own dream, while she is still chasing hers. The two work toward the same goal from opposing perspectives.
