A small country is home to two princesses, the known and admired Arue and the lesser-known Selene. Selene, also beautiful, is viewed as undesirable due to her androgynous appearance and is concealed by the kingdom, living in seclusion within a dim chamber. Selene harbors a secret that surpasses all others—her inner self is that of an elderly man.
