A timid boy named Tadashi relocates to a quiet town following his parents' divorce. During a local festival, he is chosen as the year's "Kirin Rider," a role meant to safeguard goodness. This role takes on a literal meaning when a malevolent spirit named Kato emerges. Once human, Kato turned into a demon fueled by hatred for humans and seeks revenge on the Youkai. Partnering with a Youkai named Hanako, Kato summons a fiery spirit named Yomotsumono, made from human discards and resentment. By capturing and burning other Yokai in Yomotsumono's flames, Kato creates "Nanjara-Monjara," a fearsome, tentacled Yokai capable of flight. Tadashi's mission is to retrieve the "Holy Sword" from the Great Tengu and unite the Yokai of Mizuki Road to defeat Kato. The 220-page story is presented as a continuous one-shot without chapters, reading from start to finish without interruption.
