In the eighth year of the Keicho era, three years after the Battle of Sekigahara, a man named Okubo Nagayasu seeks out Kosaka Jinnai, renowned as the greatest thief in Japan. He asks for help in dealing with a bandit group led by Fuma Kotaro. This leads to a conflict between the three Jinnai from Edo—Kosaka, Tobisawa, and Shoji—and the Fuma clan.
