Hitomi Tateno is a former animator. After graduating from Tokyo Designer Gakuin, she joined Telecom Animation Film in 1983. In 1987, she moved to Studio Ghibli and worked there until 2014. In December 2014, she opened Sasayuri Cafe in Suginami, Tokyo. She owns the cafe and also works there as a chef.
