His major works include Bokura no Hunkasai, which won a New Face Award in the 16th Japan Media Arts Festival. He is also known for Moriyamachuu Kyoushuujo and Midori no Hoshi, the former which was adapted into a movie in 2016. He is also an alumni of the Fine Arts school in Tokyo Zokei University.
He is married to the mangaka Natsuko Taniguchi.
