Kazuhiro Watanabe

Kazuhiro Watanabe was a Japanese mangaka, editor, illustrator, and essayist. He graduated from Soutoku High School. Although he was not very athletic, he loved mecha and motorcycles since he was a kid. When he was in high school, he started riding motorcycles and also started subscribing to automobile magazines. For this reason, many of his later manga works also features motorcycles and Yankees who like motorcycles. After moving to Tokyo in 1968, he entered the Tokyo College of Photography and dropped out after aiming to become a cameraman. One of the school's classmates was Yoichi Sai, who later became a film director. In 1972, he entered Bigakko and studied under Genpei Akasegawa.

In 1975, his senior Shinbou Minami invited him to join Seirindo. He later on became editor for Garo, he also served as editor-in-chief for a year and a half. He also drew a manga at the recommendation of Minami and made his debut in "Watashi no Shotaiken" published in the August 1975 issue of "Garo". After leaving Seirindo, he became a freelancer, and serialized columns in many magazines.
