Shintarou Kou is a Japanese mangaka, arts critic and talent. He debuted as a mangaka in 1962 while attending Gamagori Prefectural High School with his work "Yuriko no mado kara" which was published in Utsuki shobou. His style is mainly puns and parody, and he is particular about puns, and it can be said that almost all works are made of puns. Most of his work are 4-panel comics and gag comics with several pages. He was the director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Associated State, to which he belonged as an official candidate. He is also interested in Korean culture and has published many books on Korea.
