Ep. 1: Un Shinigami sin nombre cambia una manzana por la historia de Ryuk sobre los primeros éxitos de Light Yagami.
The film begins in the Shinigami realm with an unnamed Shinigami seeking out Ryuk, complaining that the Shinigami realm is boring and in search of a good story. In return for the story, he brings him a Shinigami apple. Ryuk accepts a Shinigami apple for his tale, which turns out to be the first half of the Death Note anime series. At the end of the film, Ryuk pauses his story and, as he reminisces about Light, talks about how Light wasn't "a god back then" and that he was something else. After realizing that the unnamed Shinigami has left, presumably to go to the human world, Ryuk concludes the film by stating: "Go ahead, why not give it a shot? If you're lucky, some unbelievable guy might just pick up your notebook. Maybe you'll get to see something you'll never forget for the rest of your life. Wouldn't you agree… Light?"
