Under the orders of Viper, Axel Brodie kidnaps Syrus in order to challenge Jaden. Back at the dorm Jesse is bugging a frustrated Hassleberry into seeing his deck when Jaden falls right into Axel's trap and runs off to rescue Syrus. If he loses, Syrus will fall off of the cliff. (Source: Wikipedia)
