The group was formed on 23rd April 2018 with the idea of making a fusion of the renowned J-pop male group EXILE and the hip-hop male group DOBERMAN INFINITY. A collaboration was held between LDH and EXILE's founder HIRO, and the latter group to determine the lineup. The potential members were selected from the finalists of EXILE Presents VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 5 and winners of PROJECT TARO. After presenting a final group performance at the end of a 10 day survival training camp that proved their ability to work together, the group name BALLISTIK BOYZ was announced on 1st May 2018. This newly assembled hip-hop oriented unit became a part of the collective supergroup EXILE TRIBE that carries EXILE's legacy.
