Scientists anticipated a catastrophic event and global leaders collaborated to create a survival strategy before a meteor struck Earth. The result was the Seven Seeds initiative, which involved freezing young, healthy individuals to preserve human life. Once the computer system confirmed Earth was habitable again, the participants were revived. The Japanese government organized five survivor groups—Winter, Spring, Summer A, Summer B, and Fall—each with seven members and a guide. Guides carried poison to use in extreme situations. Each group was directed to a shelter called "Fuji," where they found seeds and survival manuals. The series began airing on January 14th, 2020.
