In 2008, a high school student named Takumi Nishijou learns about a series of murders referred to as the 'New Gen' cases in Shibuya, Japan. Initially uninterested, he soon encounters bizarre incidents, such as receiving a disturbing image on his computer and seeing an unknown pink-haired girl at a crime scene. These events cause Takumi increasing confusion as he tries to understand what is happening. He becomes entangled in a situation where reality and illusion blur. As he becomes more involved, he is pursued by the person responsible for the 'New Gen' incidents, drawing him into a complex and uncertain reality.
