Shiki combines his powers with the Kurenai Dragoon's missiles to destroy the mech, resulting in Kurenai's capture. After Nino deactivates Kurenai's robot army, Shiki and Paul elect Homura to decide Kurenai's punishment. Kurenai feigns compassion for Homura to gain her forgiveness, but Homura determines that Kurenai does not care for her and acknowledges Valkyrie as her true mother, demanding Kurenai to leave and never return; Kurenai begins plotting revenge, but is taken captive by one of her previous victims. Shiki's team leaves Valkyrie enshrined on Sun Jewel and returns to the Edens Zero, which has evaded Drakken, to inform the crew of Valkyrie's fate. Witch and Sister argue over recreating Valkyrie from her backup data, which Witch explains would result in a different android lacking Valkyrie's emotional ties to the crew. Agreeing with Shiki that they must accept Valkyrie's death, Homura offers herself as Valkyrie's substitute in the Four Shining Stars.
