A global disaster known as Invertia, a meteor storm from the 20th century, caused widespread destruction. Amid the wreckage, a mysterious substance called mana was found, accelerating technological progress and giving rise to a new group of humans with special abilities, the Star Pulse Generation. The Festas, a major competition, takes place in a city above water, home to six academies collectively known as Asterisk. Ayato Amagiri, a scholarship student, transfers to Seidoukan Academy to pursue his personal goal of participating in the battles held there.
