GENJI FANTASY: Neko ga Hikaru Genji ni Koi wo Shita

A high school girl named Hana is turned into a cat and sent back to the Heian Era as depicted in *The Tale of Genji*. There, she is guided by the novel’s main character, Hikaru Genji, and experiences the emotions described by the author, Murasaki Shikibu. The film includes scenes inspired by *The Diary of Lady Murasaki* and other historical records, such as the noble Fujiwara no Michinaga reviewing early drafts of the novel as they were written. The project is presented by the Tale of Genji Museum in Uji City, Kyoto.
