Kasei Yakyoku

In 1923 Tokyo, a city marked by contrasts—traditional and modern, affluent and impoverished, virtuous and corrupt—a woman from a high society family becomes drawn to Taka, a striking young man. Taka and his younger brother appear connected, possibly reluctantly, to the city's underworld. The woman's maid, Sara, also encounters Taka, and their interactions lead to a conflict marked by tragedy, intense emotions, and loss of reputation. As time progresses, an ominous event looms on the horizon.
