The second part of the Gundam Thunderbolt series takes place seven months after the One Year War's conclusion. The former Principality of Zeon reorganizes as the Republic of Zeon and continues its resistance. Daryl, who piloted the Psycho Zaku during the war's final battle at the Thunderbolt Sector, loses the suit when the Moore Brotherhood's fleet is destroyed. He retreats to Earth and works in intelligence, gathering data on the South Seas Alliance, a faction within the Earth Federation. Io, who previously fought Daryl, is chosen to pilot the prototype Atlas Gundam and moves toward Earth.
