Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV

A peaceful era on Earth prompts the Terran League to launch an exploratory mission beyond the galaxy. The starship Rugger-Guard is attacked by forces from the Galbeston Empire, leading to the deployment of the super robot Dairugger to protect Earth. The mission shifts as the team assists the Galbeston people in finding a new home before their planet's destruction and freeing them from an oppressive ruler. The robot is composed of 15 modular units named "Rugger," inspired by the 15 players in a rugby union team, which combine to form the complete super-robot. The Japanese version of the series is distinct from the U.S. adaptation, which rebranded it as Voltron and altered the name of the antagonists to the Drule Empire. The U.S. version also removed or edited violent and sexual content for a broader audience.
