A second-year middle school student named Sakura Uta enjoys singing. She encounters Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Precure, who are Legendary Protectors. Purirun's home, KirakiLand, has been overtaken by darkness caused by Darkine, leader of the Chokkiri Gang. The Chokkiri Gang is stealing the sparkles of the townspeople. Determined to restore the light, Uta transforms into Cure Idol. She uses her singing, dancing, and fan service to bring back the sparkle, even in the darkest conditions.
