In a 19th-century empire recovering from war, a combat sport called mechanical boxing has emerged, featuring individuals with modified bodies. Levius, an isolated boy whose father died in the conflict and whose mother remains in a coma, is trained by his uncle and joins the ranks of mechanical boxers.
