Yuuko Yoshida wakes up with horns and a tail, learning from her mother that her family is part of the Dark side in an ancient conflict between Light and Dark. To regain some of their lost power, Yuuko must defeat a local magical girl, as the family needs funds for an all-you-can-eat pancake restaurant. The magical girl, Momo, is a classmate at Yuuko’s school and frequently helps her, despite being her target. This creates an awkward and confusing situation for Yuuko, who is torn between her mission and Momo’s kindness.
