Magic Kaito 1412

A teenage student named Kaito Kuroba experiences the sudden death of his father under unclear conditions. He later discovers that his father was a notorious criminal known as International Criminal 1412, the Phantom Thief. His father was killed by an unknown group for refusing to assist them in recovering the Pandora Gem, a legendary stone believed to produce a "tear" during a specific comet's passage, which grants immortality when consumed. Determined to stop the organization from obtaining the gem, Kaito takes on his father's identity and begins a search for the Pandora Gem. His only leads are that it glows red under a full moon and is a doublet—hidden inside another gem. It must be large, have an unusual history, and be kept in a location untouched by moonlight. To find it, Kaito investigates and temporarily steals valuable gems with strange backgrounds from highly secured locations, returning them after the next full moon.
