Thirty years ago, a sudden invasion by unknown alien species nearly destroyed the world. Since then, humans and these invasive species have competed for territory, with humanity's safety remaining fragile. People live in constant fear of death and disaster, often pretending not to notice the looming threats. The United Nations established the Hazardous Species Investigation Agency, known as "EXCEEDS," to manage and prevent crises caused by these invaders. The story is set in the Far East island nation of "Mizuho," where Shina Hisase, a young extermination hunter, resides. She lives with her younger sister, Setsuna, the only family she has left. As she tries to live a quiet life, an unexpected event disrupts her peaceful existence. The first episode of the series was approximately 60 minutes long, longer than the usual 24-minute format.
