Manga Nippon Mukashibanashi (1976)

This anime series is a collection of Japanese folk tales adapted for television, presented in an omnibus format. It is one of the longest-running TV series in Japan and the second produced by Group Tac. Each episode features a different creative team, resulting in varied visual styles and distinct atmospheres. The approach led to a wide range of quality, though some episodes were particularly strong due to the involvement of experienced professionals such as SUGII Gisaburo, SHIBAYAMA Tsutomu, FURUZAWA Hideo, RIN Taro, and HIKONE Norio. Over time, older episodes were replayed more often, and new episodes stopped being produced by late 1995. The series remains in regular broadcast.
