Since 1973, Earth has been under attack by alien forces known as BETA, leading to widespread destruction and the collapse of human civilization. In response, humanity has created large humanoid weapons called Tactical Surface Fighters to defend against the invaders. Despite these efforts, BETA continue to overwhelm human forces, forcing the abandonment of much of the Eurasian Continent. By 2001, Japan struggles to develop a new generation of Tactical Surface Fighters to defend the Far East. As part of an international collaboration, the United Nations proposes a joint development project between Japan and the United States known as the Prominence Project. Yui Takamura, a pilot from the Imperial Royal Guards, is assigned to the project and travels to Alaska. At the same time, Yuya Bridges, a U.S. Army pilot, is also heading to Alaska. Their meeting marks a turning point in their lives. The story follows the development of a new Tactical Surface Fighter, a crucial weapon in the fight against the BETA, during a time when human survival is at stake.
