Oshin

Oshin is the daughter of impoverished rice farmers. Her father and brother labor in the fields, while her pregnant mother and grandmother struggle with food shortages. To support her family, the seven-year-old Oshin leaves school and takes a servant position in a wealthy household. There, she encounters hardships far greater than she had imagined.
