۱۷ دی ۱۴۰۱One rainy day, Amane sees popular classmate Mahiru sitting on a swing and offers her his umbrella. The next day Mahiru notices Amane caught a cold from the rain. Amane returns to his apartment where he lives alone and finds Mahiru with his umbrella as she actually lives alone in the apartment next to his. As his cold had become worse, she supports him inside his messy apartment and cooks porridge for him. After getting better, Amane learns that Mahiru is an excellent cook and hates the nickname Angel that everyone calls her at school. They both agree to act as strangers at school but the next day Mahiru realised Amane lives on take-out food and energy drinks so she offers to make dinner. This soon becomes a routine of cooking for him every night. Amane's friend Itsuki actually notices Amane looking healthier from his improved diet. Mahiru finds Amane actually trying to clean his apartment and decides to help, after which Amane buys pizza. Mahiru reveals she has never had pizza as her parents are rich enough to employ a chef, leaving Amane confused why she struggles living alone on a budget. He asks why she is bothering to cook for him and she insists it is the satisfaction of showing off her skills, but Amane is unconvinced. (Source: Wikipedia)

۲۴ دی ۱۴۰۱After finding Mahiru with a sprained ankle, Amane carries her home dressed in his PE clothes in case she is recognized by others. Amane casually mentions wanting to try Mahiru's cooking while fresh and hot, so Mahiru agrees to cook in Amane's kitchen, while split the cost of ingredients and eat together. They found out that they enjoy eating together but Amane still finds the arrangement unusual since they are neither dating nor even interested in each other. While studying, Amane works hard enough to get good grades but Mahiru claims she is required to get top grades but doesn't explain why. Amane also sees from her ID that Mahiru's birthday is soon so he asks his friend Itsuki and his girlfriend Chitose for gift ideas. Despite Mahiru's claim she never celebrates her birthday she accepts the gift of hand cream and a teddy bear which make her very happy. She also reveals she usually keeps her birthday a secret, so accepting Amane's gift is a big deal. ۱ بهمن ۱۴۰۱Amane's mother Shihoko visits unexpectedly and, finding Mahiru fall asleep in his room, believes they are either dating or almost dating. After she leaves, Mahiru is glad Amane has a kind mother, revealing her own parents never even bothered to call her by her first name. They decide they can use each others first names, but only in private. Mahiru is surprised when Amane gives her a spare key. When Mahiru gets first place in their exams, Amane buys a cake as a reward, something else she never got from her parents. They end up feeding each other but soon realized that it is embarrassing. Amane decides to attempt to cook for himself but it does not go well. Mahiru is pleased he still needs her to cook for him. Itsuki and Chitose convince Amane to invite them to his apartment for a Christmas Eve party. Mahiru chooses to hide in her own apartment until they leaves but asks Amane to teach her to play videogames on Christmas Day. When it begins snowing at the party Chitose and Itsuki watch it from the balcony and surprised seeing Mahiru doing the same from her own balcony, accidentally discovers that she is Amane's neighbour. ۸ بهمن ۱۴۰۱Amane and Mahiru explain their living situation. Itsuki and Chitose are sceptical about their claim of no romantic feelings but agree to keep everything secret. Amane is upset their secret didn’t last longer then confused over feeling that way. He and Mahiru share dinner like normal and she reveals she learned cooking from the woman who looked after her. As planned they play video games Christmas day which leads to embarrassing moments as Amane teaches her to play. Amane reveals a Christmas gift, a cute case to keep his spare key in. Mahiru unexpectedly moves Amane’s hair from his face and discovers he is actually quite handsome. Amane does the same to her and sees how beautiful she is. Panicking, Mahiru reveals Amane’s gift; a scarf. Mahiru develops a fever so Amane puts her in his bed to rest. Mahiru unexpectedly holds Amane’s hand until she falls asleep. Later, she reveals it was Koyuki, her parents maid, who taught her cooking, but even Koyuki couldn't look after her when Mahiru was ill as she went home at night. ۱۵ بهمن ۱۴۰۱Amane's parents arrange to visit him New Year's Day. Mahiru falls asleep in Amane's arms before he can tell her, forcing him to put her in his bed while he takes the sofa. The next morning Mahiru is embarrassed. Amane's parents arrive and Mahiru meets his father, Shuto. They decide to visit a shrine, even though Amane is still afraid of people from school seeing them together. Talking with Shuto it is revealed Amana lives alone due to a past incident. Amane is stunned by Mahiru in traditional Yukata; Mahiru is likewise happy at how mature Amane looks in smart clothes and actually tells him so. Unfamiliar with Yukata Mahiru holds Amane's arm the whole visit to avoid falling. Amane's parents return home. A rumour spreads at school Mahiru visited a shrine with a secret boyfriend who no one realises was Amane. Amane warns Mahiru being seen with him is bad for her. Tired of his low opinion of himself Mahiru scolds him, angrily listing everything she likes about him. Amane is surprised Mahiru has such a good impression of him. Amane notices classmate Kadowaki get chocolates from dozens of girls and lends him a bag to carry it all. Mahiru makes chocolate for Amane but is embarrassed and leaves them in his apartment before quickly returning home. Amane finds they were handmade to his preference of bitter chocolate. Kadowaki returns Amane's bag, causing some gossip. Amane decides to get Mahiru a White Day gift, despite her insistence she does not need one. Mahiru is annoyed Amane's birthday was before Christmas and he didn't tell her, so she demands they celebrate his next one but is embarrassed by the implication they will still be together in a year. Amane gives Mahiru a flower bracelet and an "anything you want" coupon which she uses immediately to have him put the bracelet on for her. Amane finds repressing his feelings becoming unbearable. Itsuki correctly deduces it is Amane's fear of rejection holding him back. After accidentally touching her hand Amane is physically floored when Mahiru reveals she hates boys touching her but doesn't mind if Amane does it. ۲۹ بهمن ۱۴۰۱At school, Itsuki asks Amane to stay at his place for a few days after getting into an argument with his father about Chitose. Amane accepts, but notes that he'll have to inform Mahiru first. After school, Mahiru greets Itsuki and then prepares dinner for them, and later before they go to bed, Itsuki comments on how nice Amane is toward Mahiru, making him think that he's into her. He follows up with his opinion that everyone in school thinks Amane is some anti-social nerd, which Amane doesn't deny. Itsuki finishes the conversation by claiming that Mahiru, underneath it all, truly respects him. The next day, Chitose learns that Itsuki not only stayed over at Amane's apartment, but also ate Mahiru's food, so she decides to stay at Mahiru's for the night. Despite Amane's disapproval, Mahiru tells Amane that she approves of Chitose staying at her apartment. Amane then asks what they're having for lunch, and Mahiru answers omurice, because Chitose requested it. Later, they enjoy their lunch, and everyone compliments Mahiru's cooking. However, the conversation becomes a bit tense when Chitose notes that Mahiru can be "up-tight", claiming she always looks bored or rather aloof at school. She also notes that Mahiru can be rather "distant" with the other students, but after witnessing her "cute and innocent" side, Chitose was happy that her latter opinions were false. Then again, the conversation becomes tense when Chitose claims that Mahiru could "tame" Amane with her natural sweet side, which Mahiru denies she'll ever do. Chitose sends Amane a picture of Mahiru holding the teddy bear that night in her pajamas. When Amane looks at it, he immediately becomes flustered. In return, Itsuki takes a picture of Amane and sends it to Chitose. The following day, Itsuki and Chitose leave as Itsuki had decided to stay at Chitose's for the remainder of his three-day visit. With their guests gone, Amane and Mahiru talk about Mahiru's picture that Chitose sent to Amane. It starts off as innocent, but takes an embarrassing turn when Mahiru believes she was talking rather childishly about how she treats her teddy bear with such care. Mahiru then receives a text from someone, but refuses to tell who it is from. Eventually, Amane exits the elevator to his apartment complex and overhears a conversation between Mahiru and a woman, who chastises her for being like some male figure in her life. When they were done talking, Amane approached Mahiru and learned that the woman was her mother. Although Mahiru wanted to retreat into her apartment, Amane insisted that she stay with him in his apartment to console her. There, Mahiru confesses that her parents didn't marry out of love, but out of mutual interests. It was decided that they wouldn't have children; however, that changed after she was born. Despite being their daughter, throughout Mahiru's life, they only supported her financially, leading her to believe that they never intended to raise her. The person who truly raised Mahiru was her housekeeper, and despite acquring many accomplishments, her parents always refused to acknowledge her. This leads Mahiru to believe that she's an idiot and they'll sever ties with each other after she graduates college. When Mahiru confesses that her mother told her that she's an unwanted child, Amane consoles her. After a while, Mahiru reflects on the disparity between how her student peers view her in contrast to her true self. Amane agrees and notes that while Amane isn't nice all of the time, he still hopes to protect her. Amane's words and more brings tears to Mahiru's eyes, and asks that he look at and hold her, which he gladly accepts. Afterward, Mahiru and Amane go for a walk and talk about the upcoming new term for their school. Mahiru was excited about as they'll be changing up their classes, but as Amane points out, she hoped she'll be paired up with Chitose. Soon, Mahiru hugs Amane from behind and thanks him again for everything, who downplays his achievements. ۶ اسفند ۱۴۰۱In the new term Amane and Mahiru are now in the same class. Yuta starts talking to Amane more. Mahiru, who smiles a lot more and enjoys casually touching Amane, makes the surprising request for him to put his head in her lap. Amane is confused but it does make him feel better and he falls asleep. Mahiru makes it clear Amane is the only one who gets to see this side of her. Amane wins more stuffed animals for Mahiru who asks if he would like anything in return. Amane picks pudding, though she seems dissatisfied by this choice, then becomes embarrassed when he insists her cooking is the highlight of his day. The next day Mahiru is unexpectedly jealous of Yuta being able to speak to Amane in public, so she begins casually interacting with Amane at school and ends up on a group cooking project with him, Itsuki and Chitose. Other students fooling around in the kitchen almost burn Mahiru but Amana saves her. Mahiru notices Amane holds her longer than necessary, earning jealous stares from a lot of people. Mahiru gives Chitose cooking lessons. Amane falls asleep while they cook and after Chitose leaves Mahiru confesses while he slept she had pinched his cheek. Getting ready for their day out Amane is pleasantly surprised Mahiru dresses up for it and styles her hair. Almost without realising they hold hands all day. At the cat café Amane comments Mahiru is cat-like, distant at first, then affectionate and likes to be petted. At the arcade Mahiru wins Amane a toy cat and he almost pets her hair, but they are approached by Yuta who quickly deduces what is going on. Amane makes another bad comment about himself, causing Mahiru to question what caused his low self-esteem. The next day Yuta asks probing questions that really make Amane think about his feelings for Mahiru. Returning home he catches Mahiru guiltily looking at his childhood photographs emailed to her by his mother. Wrestling for her phone Amane falls on top of her and almost kisses her, but he resists, pinching her cheek instead. When he can’t see her face Mahiru appears disappointed. (Source: Wikipedia)

Mahiru promises he can always depend on her when he’s upset. A rumour spreads at school Mahiru went on a date with a guy, which Mahiru confirms was the most important person in her life. She later insists this is true to Amane; she has no feelings for her parents so all she has are friends, of which Amane is her most treasured. Amane feels a compulsion to improve his appearance and starts exercising. Amane dreams of having sex with Mahiru, making him act strangely towards her. Mahiru is upset until Amane explains about his embarrassing dream, which Amane finds funny. With exams approaching Mahiru promises Amana if he scores in the top ten he can lie with his head in her lap again. She also reveals she loves taking care of him. Half asleep, she motions for Amane to join her in bed, but he refuses. The following morning, Mahiru is ashamed and angry because she has begun to crave him physically but Amane has been purposefully misinterpreting her signs. As summer approaches, Mahiru changes into her summer attire, taking care to show Amane her bare legs without tights. ۵ فروردین ۱۴۰۲Sitting on Amane's couch right next to him, Mahiru admits to Amane that she sees something special in him. However, Amane then restrains Mahiru and warns her that the next time she says that, he won't use his hand the next time. When he lets go of Mahiru, she kisses Amane on the cheek and abruptly leaves, making Amane shocked by what had happened. The following day at school, Chitose asks Mahiru what she'll be doing for the upcoming sports day, and she expresses her interest in the scavenger hunt. Just then, Amane enters the classroom where Itsuki and Yuuta greet him; however, Itsuki notices that Amane had looked rather offish toward Mahiru. During lunch, Itsuki sits with Amane and Yuuta; where he asks Amane if there is something between him and Mahiru. Amane then clears things up with what had occurred between him and Mahiru. Understanding Amane's position, Itsuki and Yuuta give Amane their thoughts and opinions concerning it. Later that afternoon, Amane sits on his couch in a sad yet contemplative manner and is soon joined by Mahiru, who apologizes for her behavior the other day. On the other hand, Amane brushes it off, and then Mahiru sits beside him. Amane then asks why Mahiru did "that" the other day, to which Mahiru responds that she either got carried away or wanted to get back at him. Perplexed that Mahiru wanted to get back at him, she states that Amane did it to her once. Begrudgingly admitting that he did do that to her before, Mahiru then argues that she had the right to do it. The day after, Chitose learns she's on the red team while Amane and Itsuki are on the white team for the sports day. Itsuki then asks what team Amane is on, but his response is cut off when it shifts to that night at his apartment. Amane asks Mahiru what she chose for the sports day, and she answers the relay and scavenger race. Pleased to hear that, Amane claims he chose the grab bag and scavenger race. Sitting on the couch, Amane enjoys a bit of his ice cream as he has a heart-to-heart with Mahiru about his thoughts on sports day. After this, he gives a couple of spoons fulls to Mahiru. Realizing what he has done, Amane gives the rest to her and claims he'll make himself some coffee. On sports day, Amane talks with Yuuta as they watch Chitose take part in the track run, and Amane learns that Chitose was part of the track team in middle school. Yuuta also details some of the reasons why Chitose didn't join the track team in high school. After Chitose completes the track race, she approaches Amane and claims that she is in charge of the scavenger race and that he won't be disappointed by it. When the race starts, Mahiru and Amane team up with each other as their cards match what they need, despite them being on separate teams. Running to the finish line, they draw attention to each other, but even more so when they reach the finish line where Chitose reads off what their cards have said. Amid their lunch break, the boys in Amane's class demand answers from him about his relationship with Mahiru, and he honestly elaborates to them about it. Before long, Mahiru admonishes the boys from further questioning Amane about his relationship with him. She also confirms that Amane is someone dear to her and asks if one of the boys has anything else they'd like to ask. The boy then asks, out of everyone, why she chose a dull person like Amane. To that, Mahiru asks what the boy meant by Amane was dull, and he answers basically his looks, which she argues is a narrow-minded way of thinking. However, Mahiru then claims that Amane is a cool and kind person while listing off some other positive traits about him. Hearing Mahiru's response, the boys walk off, and Mahiru asks Amane to eat lunch with her, and he agrees. Afterward, the sports day continues, and Amane thinks that at home, he'll confess to Mahiru. That evening, Amane sits again on his couch in a contemplative posture and is soon joined by Mahiru, who sits close beside him. Mahiru admits Amane must have many questions for him, but asks that she go first. Amane allows it, and Mahiru apologizes for her actions earlier that day, which he had expected and didn't hold against her. From there, Amane apologizes for being a coward, but Mahiru admits she is the same while also being selfish. Amane claims she wasn't being selfish and then embraced her, stating he was selfish. He then admits his thoughts and feelings toward Mahiru and vows to reach her level one day, so he can feel worthy of being with her.
