In 2079, an orbital elevator was constructed in the Pacific Ocean to mark the return of global peace after the Third World War. During its completion ceremony, a massive red humanoid entity emerged from space, overpowering human defenses and seizing the elevator. Humanity has since been at war with this entity, known as "Vacant," which continues to launch attacks from orbit. By 2099, the 7th generation humanoid fighter "Seventh" has enabled humans to contain "Vacant" near the orbital elevator. At the Yashima military base in the Pacific, a woman from the special technology research department pilots the black Seventh F/SX-02 Tenra. The machine contains the personality data of a girl named Liza, with whom she once had a close relationship.
