Wonderful Days

In the year 2142, Earth's biosphere has collapsed due to human negligence. A technologically advanced society survives within the sealed city of Ecoban, while a few refugees live in the surrounding Wasteland. Ecoban's leaders rely on these refugees, known as Diggers, for mining raw materials in exchange for support. Over time, the leaders have become a lazy ruling class, treating the Diggers as slaves and giving them only enough to survive. The Diggers, now resentful, begin to demand better treatment. Simultaneously, Ecoban's life-sustaining systems are failing, and repairs require exposing the Diggers to greater environmental hazards.
