Tokio and Azuma are close friends, often seen together, with Tokio frequently playing the role of the less prominent one. After being attacked by a superhuman mutant known as a choujin, Tokio undergoes a transformation into one himself, offering him a new opportunity to stand out. However, the experience of having superpowers proves challenging. Tokio must conceal his change from his family, manage a truancy issue at school, and navigate a series of strange occurrences in the town. The manga initially appeared in Weekly Young Jump before shifting to Tonari no Young Jump, with some chapters published in shorter forms in the magazine and later expanded. After chapter 15, the series returned exclusively to Tonari no Young Jump.
