A science fiction novel, originally published in 1967, follows the journey of historical figures such as Plato, Buddha, and Christ as they travel to the distant future to witness the end and rebirth of the world. The story spans an immense timescale, with Plato spending ten billion days and the others traveling through one hundred billion nights. The novel was revised and republished in 1973 and later adapted into a manga in 1977 by Moto Hagio, marking her only work in Shonen Champion.
