Shi ni Aruki

A man of considerable means, Kurosu Tokimune, dies under suspicious circumstances. His family gathers to mourn, but soon becomes the focus of a police inquiry into the possibility of foul play. The main suspect is Tokiko, the family’s adopted daughter, who was the first to find the body and who displays no visible signs of grief over her father’s death. As attention turns toward her, another unexpected death takes place. This pattern of events is not new—those around Tokiko often meet untimely ends.
