Shirley

Kaoru Mori's manga features Shirley, a 13-year-old maid in early 20th-century England, offering a quiet look at her everyday experiences. The first volume also includes two short stories: one follows a girl named Nelly, and the other, "Mary Banks," centers on a maid enduring daily pranks from her employer, such as being sprayed with water or tripped with ropes. After her employer's sudden death, Mary faces an uncertain future. Originally published as fanzines under the title *Shirley Medison* around 2000-2001, the stories were later compiled and released in 2003 by Enterbrain as *Shirley*. The author continued the series with additional chapters released between 2006 and 2014, with all *Shirley Medison* chapters eventually included in the second volume of *Shirley*.
