Marimo Himenogi is determined to pursue a career as an idol singer. When a local singing competition is announced, she convinces her boyfriend, Ayumi, to join her as a partner. To compete, Ayumi pretends to be a girl. The pair unexpectedly wins the contest and is offered a record deal as the duo "Twinkle."
