Francoise Nagel

Françoise Nagel is a literary translator specialising in English and Korean to French translations.

She began working as a professional translator while studying as an English major. Then she gave up everything to follow her American husband to the United States where she lived and worked for six years. Returning back to France, she continued to work while taking care of her children, her husband and her cats.

Once the children were (more or less) gone, she resumed her studies in translation. With a degree from the British Institute in hand, she was finally able to devote herself to what she had always been passionate about: literary translation. It was by chance that she discovered Korean literature and began translating children's novels and even manhwa with Yeong-Hee Lim.

Among the works translated from English, she has many novels and essays to her credit, and among those translated from Korean, novels, a collection of short stories, children's books, and manhwa.
