A third-year middle school student named Masamune resides in a town where all exits are sealed after an explosion at a steel mill causes time to freeze. The town's rules prohibit any changes, and the people endure their stagnant lives, waiting for things to return to normal. Masamune's enigmatic classmate, Mutsumi, leads him to the steel mill's fifth furnace, where they meet a mute girl who appears like a wild wolf. This encounter between the two girls and Masamune upsets the world's balance, triggering an unstoppable "impulse of love" from boys and girls exhausted by their daily routine, which starts to dismantle the world.
