This anime was created to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the New World. It portrays Columbus as a determined individual with a dramatic life. Hailing from Genoa, he fulfills his aspiration to become a sailor, embarks on a mission to find a new route, and ultimately achieves his objective by discovering a new land. His journey is marked by moments of desperation and excitement, highlighting the remarkable nature of his experiences. The series first aired in Italy on Canale 5 between November 28, 1992, and March 30, 1993, and was later broadcast in Japan exactly ten years later, from November 28, 2002, to March 30, 2003.
