Kokoro's school partners with another to host a bazaar for redistributing unused household items. After school, Elder Tama informs Kokoro and her Cocotama companions that they have earned a visit to the Cocotama World to observe how Cocotama gods function. Elder Tama asks Kokoro to help humans appreciate their belongings rather than discard them carelessly. Tepple secretly enters the Cocotama World and steals a key acorn that unlocks the Happy Tree, the source of their magic. Elder Tama discovers the acorn is missing, and the Cocotama attempt to recover it. Tepple's actions cause a rift and a mushroom infestation, as discarded items generate mushrooms from sadness, spreading negative energy. Without the acorn, Cocotama cannot eliminate the mushrooms quickly enough. Tepple takes a Happy Star, worsening the situation. Kokoro and the Cocotama must mend Tepple's heart before the darkness and magic depletion spread to the human world.
