Gasshin Sentai Mechander Robo

A powerful empire from the Ganymede System, led by General Ozmel, has taken control of Earth after deposing Queen Medusa. With Earth on the verge of total domination, Dr. Shikishima seeks to resist through the use of a large mecha called the Mechander Robo. This machine is engineered specifically to counter the empire's forces. Dr. Shikishima selects three pilots to operate the mecha: Jimmy Orion, a mysterious figure; Ryosuke Shikishima, the doctor's son; and Kojiro Hachijima. While the main conflict centers on Earth's struggle against the Doron Empire, Jimmy Orion's background appears to have a connection to the larger events unfolding.
