A high school student named Umaru appears to be an accomplished and well-mannered teenager. However, once at home, she reveals a different side of herself by indulging in junk food, drinking soda, and playing video games. Her older brother, Taihei, is the only one who witnesses this side of her and tries to manage his responsibilities while encouraging her to act more appropriately. As Umaru forms new friendships and encounters various amusing circumstances, she continues to pursue her interests in staying up late eating snacks and watching anime.
