Maihime

An exchange student becomes deeply infatuated with a dancer in 19th century Berlin. When he decides to return home, she descends into despair. Based on a novel by Mori Ogai, the story is adapted by Shutaro Oku, known for "School Girl," who also contributes illustrations. Akisa Furuya handles the booklets, slide shows, and animations for this Ga-nime production. Set against a foreign backdrop, the narrative explores emotional and poetic elements, enhanced by artistic visuals that bring the tale to life.
