A mobile game adaptation serves as the basis for this project, developed by Square Enix as a "light novel-style RPG" app. The narrative takes place at Goryōkan Academy, a prestigious coeducational private school featuring a large urban campus. The institution is renowned for its dual purpose: it also operates a covert function, managing and preparing the elite unit known as the Fifth Force. This unit is tasked with defending the world from unseen supernatural beings called "Oburi," which are gradually consuming the world. From among the student population, five individuals are selected and equipped with abilities to combat the Oburi on missions. A newly assigned leader is responsible for forming this team of five students.
