Tomorrow’s Leaves

Commissioned by the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage and produced by Studio Ponoc for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, this animated project centers on a mysterious message leaf whose usual vivid colors rapidly fade and crumble. Five envoys from different regions are sent to investigate the cause. Accompanied by small spirits, they journey through challenging landscapes, relying on their individual abilities and facing both competition and cooperation. As they progress, they encounter trials that highlight the unifying aspects of sport and the value of fair, spirited competition. Their mission is to uncover the reason behind the leaf’s condition and determine if it is possible to revive a future that appears to be in danger.
