A legendary warrior known as the Monkey King was renowned for his unmatched strength and ability to move between Heaven, Earth, and Hell. After violating key divine laws, he was confined in an icy prison beneath the mountains, restrained by forces capable of subduing him. His absence leads to a wave of darkness spreading over China. A boy, escaping monstrous attackers in his village, takes refuge in the mountains and discovers an icy pillar encased in chains. Upon touching it, he shatters the binding spell, setting off the events of the film.
