Yasashii Lion

An animated adaptation of Yanase Takashi's picture book, it portrays the bond between a mother dog named Muku-muku, who has lost her puppy, and a baby lion named Buru-buru, who has also lost her mother. Originally intended by Tezuka Osamu as the first part of a planned musical animated series centered on the emotional experiences of the two characters, the project was never completed. A revised version was released in 1998, featuring altered dialogue, new voice actors, and a modified final scene.
